[Meet the Band]

Hernan is from (Cali-Colombia),during the 1980's Hernan performed and studied with  the world's finest musicians and groups from Latin America.

In 1980 Hernan was voted best young guitar performer by Colombia's leading music school "club camucol". also performed with "trio los islenos", playing traditional Colombian music throughout south America before travelling to Europe in 1987. Hernan has performed in Modena, Barcelona, London, Germany, Belgium, Geneva and France with such popular Euro-Latin stars as "the gypsy kings" and "el trio bellmar"

Hernan then travelled to the pacific briefly stopping in Tahiti before arriving in New Zealand in 1991 where, after taking residency, formed the  duo "sound Latino". Hernan contributed guitar solo's and arrangement to the self titled album "kantuta" before joining the group. the knowledge of Latin rhythms and musical arrangements that "chico" has, is a great asset to "kantuta".
